Samantha Keza is a

Visual-interactive media designer, and photographer with a passion in brand identity and UX/UI. As a child, I was always attracted to art but I wasn't the best at drawing. However, when applying to college I wondered what could allow me to do some form of art that wouldn't necessarily require me to draw on paper. This is how I stumbled on the design industry by majoring in Arts Technology at Millikin Univeristy. This major introduced me to the beauty of typography, design principles, composition, gestalt principles, photography, video editing, animation, print design, product design, branding, visual identity, and so much more. But most importantly stumbling on Adobe creative cloud was a dream come true, I could finally use the pen tool to show my ideas to the world.
I love design because it uses contrast, balance, emphasis, proportion, hierarchy, repetition, rhythm, pattern, white space, movement, variety, and unity to tell people’s stories. I love the fact that with design there are endless possibilities for storytelling that shows someone’s visual identity.
I have been lucky to work as a UX designer intern at Boeing, and a graphic designer at Millikin Centre for Entrepreneurship. I am also a member of a design student-run venture (Millikin Creates) that helps create visual, interactive, and audio solutions for the local community. Through working on different design projects I became proficient in using Adobe software (including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro, Dimension, and Dreamweaver), and Figma.
I am passionate about using branding identity to tell people’s stories, build their personalities, show their values, and reveal what sets them apart from the rest.
